Friendship is one of the greatest bonds anyone can ever wish for. Lucky are those who have friends they can trust. Friendship is a devoted relationship between two individuals. They both feel immense care and love for each other. Usually, a friendship is shared by two people who have similar interests and feelings. We meet many along the way of life but only some stay with us forever. Those are our real friends who stay by your side through thick and thin. Friendship is the most beautiful gift we can present to anyone. It is one which stays with a person forever.

In short, true friendship is what gives us reason to stay strong in life. Having a loving family and all is okay but you also need true friendship to be completely happy. Some people don’t even have families but they have friends who’re like their family only. Thus, we see having true friends means a lot to everyone.

A family Get-together

A family get-together is the happy union of the members of a family on a festive occasion. Such a get-together took place in our house in Delhi for five days during last summer vacation. This occasion occurred on my sister’s wedding ceremony. Almost all our relatives attended the function. My two uncles, who are settled in Melbourne, came with their families. But the biggest attraction was our nonagenarian grandma. For some days, the whole house buzzed with sweet noises of children and laughter of the elderly. I enjoyed their sweet company very much. The occasion was celebrated with lots of games and jokes, riddles and contests. While my father and uncle shared the duties of making the occasion well arranged, the women contributed to work in the kitchen and keep the house neat even during such noisy and naughty activities.

Procrastination

The reasons for a person procrastinating can be varied. It depends on person-to-person and situation-to-situation. However, there are some universal reasons that cause people to delay their tasks and actions. One of the most important ones is the fear of failure. When a person delays doing an important task or is disinterested in finishing it, the cause could be a deep-rooted fear of failure. It is in human nature to avoid and fear failure. So by choosing to never finish the task, we can avoid the consequences as well.

Another reason is the lack of focus and determination. Feeling directionless and unfocused can often cause people to lose their wills to do their jobs. This leads to procrastination. Sometimes the lack of goals and objectives is also the reason a person loses their focus. Since they do not have an end-goal in mind, they end up wasting energy in other useless tasks.

While procrastinating is a very natural fault we all share, if it gets out of hand it can get quite troublesome. Excessive procrastination can disrupt your life and cause you to lose control of your schedules and deadlines. So when the procrastination gets out of hand, you need to reign it in and get back in control.

Importance of Library

The word library is derived from a French word “Librairie”; Latin “liber” = book. The library plays an important role in our academic and social lives. Library is an organized collection of information resources made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing and this collection of information may be in the form of books, newspapers, CD’s, journals and research papers etc. library provides us physical or digital access to material, and may be a physical building or room, or a virtual space, or both containing collection of informative material. A library can be of different types like, school library, college library, office library or community library etc. and collection in a library may vary from books, periodicals, newspapers, manuscripts, films, maps, prints, documents, microform, CDs, cassettes, videotapes, DVDs, Blue-ray Discs, e-books, audio books, databases, and other formats. Libraries range in size from a few shelves of books to several million items.

Libraries offer free education and entertainment to the masses which can be a student, a work professional or a common person of a community. It doesn’t matter what your economic status is, you can come in and have free access to books that can inform and transform you. Though the use of school/college and research libraries is limited only to the students of that particular school/college but state and community libraries are open for all and anyone can avail the benefits of these during working hours. It would not be wrong to say that a library is the store-house for books of all kinds and on all subjects under the one roof. A good modern library usually subscribes to practically all the important newspapers and periodicals so that these are made available to all those interested in these information sources.

Travelling as a part of education

Travelling means going from one’s place to another or from one’s country to another. This instinct of roaming about is rooted in man’s nature. This instinct leads a man to see the unseen, to know the unknown and to unveil the mystery. Therefore it is very beneficial part of education. Travelling is immensely beneficial. Nowadays, it is also regarded as a part of education. “Home keeping youth have ever homely wits”. It means who passes his life in one’s place and never leaves his place to visit other places, has a too narrow outlook. Furthermore, travelling fosters understanding nations. It is an important component in establishing world peace. Finally, travelling has a great educational value. Travelling and education both associated with each other. Travelling remove this gap because true education takes place outside the classroom. Bookish knowledge made to perfect and significant by travelling.

India: Unity in Diversity

The existence of oneness despite numerous distinctions is the meaning of unity in variety. India is one of the excellent examples one can learn to understand the concept of Unity in diversity. We can clearly observe that people of all religions, creeds, castes, dialects, cultures, lifestyles, dressing sense, faith in God, rituals of worship, and so on coexist peacefully under one roof, i.e. in one country of India. We can never forget the liberation movements led by Indians of all faiths, religions and castes to establish India as an independent country. In India, the struggle for freedom is a magnificent example of unity in diversity.

India is the world’s largest and most populous country, home to people of various religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism, Jainism, Christianity, and Parsees, all of which believe in the same Dharma and Karma doctrine. The Indian society is god-fearing by nature, believing in soul purification, reincarnation, salvation, heaven’s luxury, and hell’s punishments. People here celebrate their religious holidays (Holi, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Good Friday, Mahavir Jayanti, Buddha Jayanti, Ganesh Chaturthi and so on) in a very peaceful manner, without causing harm to other religious people.

In India, Hindi is the mother tongue, but many other dialects and languages are spoken by people of various religions and regions (such as English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bhojpuri, Bihari, Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Odiya, Gujarati, Malayali, Kashmiri, and so on); however, everyone is proud to be a citizen of great India.

The Value of Leisure

Leisure is very important for a healthy life. We must rest for a few hours every day. We must have some holidays occasionally. We must enjoy a good number of holidays annually. One cannot live long if one does not follow this rule. Our energy gets wasted while doing work. This energy is restored only if we have proportionate leisure. Not only our body, but even our brain also needs rest and leisure. It gets rest only when we divert our attention from the daily profession we are doing to some worth enjoying job. Leisure is all the more important these days. Man has become very busy. If poor, he has to keep himself engaged to make both ends meet. If rich, he is after making more and more money. He wants more and more comforts. He wants to have more and more amenities of life. In this race of materialism, life has become very busy. It is with the progress in a civilisation that life has become so busy. Our forefathers had enough leisure. They enjoyed more and more leisure than work. Even today, life is busier in advanced countries. In India, there are very many people who have enough leisure to stroll aimlessly. They have enough leisure to pass remarks on passersby. On one hand, leisure is essential. On the other hand, it is a problem. The problem arises as to how it is to be utilised or enjoyed. If one whiles away one’s leisure, the devil will take hold of him. It is an established fact that an empty brain is the devil’s workshop. So, education must aim at teaching men the right and proper use of leisure. It must equip every person mentally. This can be done only when their attention is diverted from idle gossips to some healthy activities. The man should be taught to do some such thing as may help him in making him cultured. This can be done in the schools through co-curricular activities. It is through such activities these healthy habits may be developed among the students.

Student and Politics

With the growing student unrest in the country, everybody has started asking a question whether students and politics can and should go together. Students were made to take part in politics long before the independence of the country. They were the vanguard (front leader) of the national struggle for independence. Gandhiji often gave a call for civil disobedience movements and the students took an active part in them.

As a matter of fact, the game of politics is not at all beneficial to the student community. So they should keep aloof from active politics as far as possible. There were strong reasons for it. Student life is very precious and students have to devote themselves, heart and soul, to their studies. True education means the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. Students have to be physically strong, mentally alert and morally upright. If the dirty game of politics is played by the student inside or outside the campus, much of their valuable time will be wasted and their studies would remain incomplete and their careers would be ruined.

Students are generally too immature to understand the ins and outs of politics. They have not yet gained that worldly wisdom and tact which are so essential for a politician. Another reason why students should not take part in politics is that they are more emotional than rational with the result that they have not as yet acquired that stable and balanced mind that the game of politics requires. It is a well-known fact that politics is a dirty and dangerous game. Without a balanced and rational mind, it is very risky for students to jump into politics. During the pre-independence days, students took an active part in politics because there was an urgency. Our motherland was groaning under the iron heels of the Britishers. Naturally, our first and foremost duty was to free her from foreign domination. education was a secondary problem then. Now that India has won freedom the first and foremost duty of students is to acquire knowledge. Politics should not be their chief concern. They might indulge in politics after completing their studies. Now let us look at the other side of the picture. Students are the cream of society, the pillars of their nation and the future hope of their country. The students of today are the nation of tomorrow. Political consciousness is, therefore, very necessary for the future citizens of the nation.

Importance of Morning Walk

Walking is an essential part of everyone’s life. It helps us clear our minds, think about the day ahead and focus on anything and everything given before taking a step. When one is not feeling well or struggling with daily tasks, one can try to get up early in the morning and walk for at least 30 minutes. The advice given in this essay on morning walk is intended for students who want to start or improve their routine. This exercise can help in overall fitness and should be done daily without fail.

The morning walk is a practice that can help us in many ways. It helps bring our body and mind into balance, makes us feel healthy, and relieves stress. Walking for just five minutes before breakfast improves our mood, alertness, and concentration. Walking is a form of physical activity that can help to improve mood and reduce stress levels. It has many benefits aside from the health-related effects. Morning walks also help with concentration, creativity, and mental focus. It’s not just a physical exercise that we should be doing in the morning; it’s an emotional one too. Walking in the morning helps regulate our stress levels, which significantly impacts our mental health. This can also help us sleep better at night and be more alert during the day.

Students and Social Service

Man is social by nature. He wishes to live in a society that is healthy. To serve that society and to better its condition is the greatest wish of man. The student of today is the citizen of tomorrow. He is in the making. He should, therefore be given a chance to serve and better the society in which he lives.

In an Indian village there is a great field for social service. Gandhiji has set a very good example in Champaran. Students should go to villages and render social service there. This will be useful both for villages as well as for the students.

Students have only bookish knowledge. They must go to a neighbouring village. This will bring them in practical life. They will get a chance to tackle problems themselves. They will be required to employ their energy, mind and heart. This will develop in them the habit of thinking and working. They will get a chance to enjoy open air and to come close to villagers. They will know that, though uneducated, villagers are not wholly bad. By coming in contact with nature. their outlook will be widened. Moreover, students will learn the dignity of labour. They will have team spirit. They will learn how to organise and to work in co-operation. They will spread among uneducated villagers not only literacy but the habit of living neat and clean also. They will entertain the tired villagers with wise talks and magic lanterns. They will teach villagers the lesson of self-help and self-reliance. The contact of city-bred students and villagers will not be a mere waste of many fear. There may be difficulties, for villagers are suspicious by nature. But the teacher who accompanies the team will gain confidence. Village women will be approached through girl-students. Hence social service, should be made a compulsory part of our education.

A Dance Performance

On the previous Republic Day, I went to school with my friends. Our teachers and headmasters organized a program. They gave some speeches and there were music and dance performances. I participated in one of them. We all danced on patriotic songs. One of our teachers sang those songs for us. I felt a little nervous at the beginning because that was my first dance performance in my school. But at the end we got appreciation from our head master.

A Bridge

A bridge is a structure to cross an open space or gap. Bridges are mostly made for crossing rivers, valleys, or roads. Nowadays most big bridges are made to carry vehicles but people have also walked across bridges for thousands of years. Bridges called highway overpasses carry a road over another road. The Rainbow

Rainbow appears in the sky at the end of the rain. It is a long and wide band of seven colours. It forms a semicircle going from one end of the earth to the other. Scientists say that when sunlight passes through a thin medium to a denser medium, all the seven colours which are present in the white light form a semi-circular rainbow. The seven colours are violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. People believe that if a rainbow appears after the rain, it is an indication that there will be no more rains. In Hindi, rainbow is called ‘Indra Dhanush’ which means the Bow of Lord Indra. According to Hindu mythology Lord Indra is the god of rain. The rainbow looks miraculously beautiful. Its sight is very soothing to the eye. Small children get very excited when they see a rainbow.

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal needs no introduction. This monument is on the list of the Seven Wonders of the World. No wonder people swarm in flies all year round to witness the magnificence of his beauty. This monument is located in India in the city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. In other words, Taj Mahal marks the excellence of Mughal architecture.

Taj Mahal is one of the main reasons why India is famous. Many people even associate India with Taj Mahal. However, to me, more than the splendid architecture, it is the story behind it that appeals to me the most. This magnificent beauty stands strong as a symbol of the love of a husband to his wife. Moreover, it reminds us of the power of love and how it can set an example for generations to come.

Mahatma Gandhi

Born in the quiet place of Gujarat, Mahatma Gandhi went onto become a freedom fighter and fought vehemently to free India of the British Rule. He believed in non-violence and considered peace to be of foremost importance in case of winning the struggle. He started his life as a lawyer. He came to India to pursue the same and could not make a good living out of the skill that he had acquitted. He failed to practice law properly here and as a result of that shifted to South Africa. He started a family there. Young Gandhi is a vivid reflection of the values his mother had taught him.

This is the season where people face scorching heat at some places. High temperature during summer season makes the heat intolerable for every one especially in the northern part of India. During summer season people enjoy eating various kinds of fruits like mango, water melon, grapes, cucumber etc to get relief from scorching heat. Children enjoy this season the most as they get summer vacation and long break from studies.
