Characteristics of Good Research
  1. Honesty
  2. Open to criticism/feedback
  3. Free from personal biases
  4. Maintain objectives of research only
  5. Free from error
  6. Prior approval of respondents before collection of data
  7. Respondent must be aware of the research
  8. Same article must not be sent to more than one publisher
  9. Confidentiality of personal data
  10. No harm to anyone in name of research
  11. Intellectual property right
  12. Sensitive question to respondent if they are willing to
  13. Legality of the process
Don’t for A Researcher
  1. Fabrication: Ethically wrong data which does not exist in reality.
  2. Falsification: Manipulation of data or the research process to show results which cannot be claimed otherwise on the basis of available data.
  3. Plagiarism: Proper citation of work, not to use another person’s work claiming own.
  4. Misuse of Funds: No use of money for personal comfort, fake bills.
  5. Respondents should not be lured by gifts or incentives beforehand for providing data.
  6. Misuse of Confidential Information.
  7. Misuse of Identity of the respondent.
  8. Harm anyone in the name of research.
  9. Free from the subjectivity of the researcher.
