Areas/Syllabus

We can clearly divide the NTA NET syllabus and West Bengal SET Syllabus in two parts: First, The Literary Part, Second The Technical Part. In comparison to Literary Part the second one is less time consuming in preparation and can easily make you score high. Lets divide the syllabus.

Literary Part:

  1. Drama
  2. Poetry
  3. Novel/Fiction/Short story
  4. Non-Fictional Prose

Technical Part:

  1. Language: Basic concepts, theories, and pedagogy. English in Use.
  2. English in India: history, evolution, and futures
  3. Cultural Studies
  4. Literary Criticism
  5. Literary Theory post World War II
  6. Research Methods and Materials in English
